Pablo Piedrabuena

  • Pablo who lives with ASD Level 1, depression, anxiety, and PTSD, has seen firsthand the profound impact that active therapy and a supportive network can have on one’s life. This personal experience is the driving force behind the founding of Living Dreams Disability Services. Pablo understands the challenges faced by individuals with disabilities and wanted to create a safe, welcoming, and accepting space where people can exercise, receive the support they need, and feel a true sense of belonging.

    In 2007, Pablo began going to the gym, which became a pivotal moment in his life. Exercise helped him lower anxiety levels, clear his mind, and realize that with dedication and perseverance, any goal is achievable. This experience inspired him to become a Personal Trainer in 2009, following by getting his Diploma in Sports Nutrition, Adaptive Special Needs Training Master, amongst many other qualification, with the mission of helping others find happiness and improve their well-being. He has since then, helped hundreds of people in the special needs community live a better life.

    Pablo, through his commitment and dedication, became a Sponsored Profesional Natural Bodybuilder, who travelled the world representing Australia and winning many titles including 2x world titles. He also wrote a short book called ‘Just Breathe’, hoping this would help others who might be or have experience similar life situations.

    Through Living Dreams Disability Services, Pablo is committed to providing an environment where individuals with disabilities do not have to mask their true selves or feel overwhelmed. His goal is to ensure that everyone who comes through the doors of Living Dreams feels accepted, supported, and empowered to achieve their personal goals.

Maria Piedrabuena

PSYCHOLOGIST

  • Maria is a registered Psychologist with extensive experience working with children, adolescents and adults with special needs, mental illnesses and trauma.

    Maria believes that therapy doesn't have to be boring. Learning about ourselves, our emotions and our rollercoaster lives can be done whilst having fun. This is why, she strives to create a nurturing and fun environment where clients can feel safe and supported.

    Maria loves having the opportunity to guide individuals through this journey. Maria utilises a range of therapeutic styles including client centered therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), mindfulness and play therapy.

 

Morgan Hodgson

  • Morgan provides a safe and validating environment to children, adolescents and adults with a broad range of presentations, including: Depression, Anxiety, trauma, PTSD, Autism, ADHD, adjustment, parental burnout and low self-esteem. Morgan strives to create a comfortable and welcoming environment to ensure all clients feel at home and can safely begin their journey to better understand themselves.

    Morgan utilises a person-centered and strengths based approach whilst tailoring the treatment to the unique needs of the individual. Morgan uses evidence based psychological approaches including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Reminiscence Therapy, Play Therapy and Mindfulness. Morgan also engages in counselling.

    It can be difficult knowing when or how to reach out, and finding a psychologist that works with you can be like finding the right shoe - it may take a few goes! At Living Dreams Disability Services, Morgan can warmly help with beginning or continuing your wellbeing journey.

 

Jordan Jongebloed

  • Jordan has extensive experience in the NDIS, particularly working with ADHD and ASD diagnoses including assessment and intervention. In addition to treating complex disabilities and participants from a diverse range of backgrounds and ages, he also takes an interest in eating disorders and mood disorders including depression and anxiety.

    Jordan has plenty of experience working with children, adolescents and their families, and believes in fostering a fun and supportive environment for his clients to feel heard and understood, while helping them to improve their quality of life. He implements evidence-based psychological practices such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), play therapy and mindfulness, in addition to counselling skills.  

 

Jacqui Nix

  • Jacqui has been an Occupational Therapist for over 24 years, including working as a Director in Qld Health. 

    Her clinical background as an “urban” generalist allows her the flexibility to work across a range of therapy activities, from conducting home assessments to prescribing compression therapy, and a lot more!  She enjoys working with people from all walks of life and finding innovative solutions and tailoring plans to suit her clients. 

    Jacqui believes the most important part of her work is making a difference in someone’s independence and quality of life.

 

Emily Mammino

  • Emily has experience in supporting clients from all walks of life and helping them not only lose weight, gain strength, become more functional in the gym but also increase confidence, self-esteem and independence. She uses various forms of training such as weight training, HIIT, and boxing.

    Emily grew up with a hearing impaired father and is fluent in AUSLAN. She is a big believer that fitness is for everyone, including those who are deaf and mute. She understands the unique needs of the deaf and mute community and is dedicated to helping them achieve their fitness goals.

    Her expertise in Auslan ensures that communication is never a barrier to achieving your fitness goals.

    She always puts the client first and listens to their goals and needs with great care and empathy. Emily feels that she has more to give to clientele who may benefit from having a trainer who is fluent in AUSLAN.

 

Michaela Brady

  • Michaela is passionate Exercise Specialist who has been working within the fitness industry for three years helping hundreds of participants in the special needs community.

    Both as a Support Worker and Exercise Specialist, she thoroughly enjoys getting to tailor Active Therapy Programs to suit the interests and needs of each participant, to not only strive to make each workout as upbeat and enjoyable as possible, but also to help the participant achieve a healthy, happy and independent life.

    Michaela is driven by the idea that potential is limitless and the mind and body is capable of so much more than we can imagine, regardless of ones diagnosis.

 

Shakila Ramathasan

SPEECH PATHOLOGIST - Director of Speak to Sparkle

  • Shakila is a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist who completed her Bachelor of Applied Science (Speech Pathology) from the University of Sydney. 

    Originally from Melbourne, Shakila returned home after her studies in Sydney to pursue her passion for working with children and their families. She ensures her therapy sessions are both enjoyable and practical, aiming to integrate skills into a child’s daily life.

    Shakila’s expertise spans a variety of communication needs, including speech, language, literacy, social skills, and feeding. She enjoys working with children of all ages, from toddlers and preschoolers to school-aged children and teenagers.

    Committed to lifelong learning, Shakila continually seeks to enhance her skills. She has a particular interest in working with children with developmental delays and/or disabilities and has undergone specific training and professional development. She has undertaken training through DValert in family and domestic violence and paediatric feeding. Furthermore, Shakila has professional development training in Hanen It Takes Two to Talk + More Than Words, Sounds Write,  Social Thinking – More Than Social Skills, Adina Levy’s workshops including neurodiversity affirming practice and many more.

    Shakila is proficient in Key Word Sign (KWS) and is can speak Tamil.

    As a Certified Practising Member of Speech Pathology Australia, Shakila is dedicated to ongoing education and continually seeks opportunities to broaden her knowledge and skills.

 

Sarah Thompson

  • Sarah completed her Master of Speech Pathology at the University of Melbourne. She worked as a mobile allied health assistant while studying and is now a graduate Speech Pathologist offering both mobile services in Greater Dandenong and the Mornington Peninsula, and some clinic-based services out of Mulgrave.

    Sarah enjoys working with clients and their families to achieve functional and client-centred goals in the areas of speech, language, and social communication. She is passionate about neurodiversity affirming care and continues to broaden her knowledge in this area. Sarah’s has experience in a variety of communication needs, including speech, language, literacy, social skills, and more.

    Sarah is proficient in Key Word Sign. She has undertaken professional development training through Adina Levy’s workshops including neurodiversity affirming practice and is certified to run the Hanen – More Than Words parent program.

    Outside of work, Sarah enjoys spending time in nature and writing short stories.

    Sarah is a member of Speech Pathology Australia and is recognised as a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist. 

 

Sonia Faruquie

  • Sonia is an experienced Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD); and has completed further training in Diabetes Education and Management and is also an Accredited Optifast Health Professional.

    Sonia has worked with a wide range of clients and conditions with experience in disability, mental health, weight loss, Pre-diabetes, diabetes (Type 1, Type 2, diabetes in pregnancy and diabetes remission), PCOS, bone health, hypertension, and heart disease.

    Sonia also has published research in the areas of Adolescent Eating Disorders, Enteral Nutrition as well as in diabetes and heart disease management.

    Sonia’s knowledge and expertise working in the hospital sector and private practice will make a positive difference and help our clients immensely to improve their overall health and wellbeing using evidenced based tailored programs; and assist with the prevention and/or management of health conditions.

 

Mo Abdelnabi

  • Mo has more than 10 years of experience as a physiotherapist. He is a strong believer in lifelong learning which led him to further his training in Manual therapy. Mo’s experience includes working in private practice where he gained vast knowledge in treating Musculoskeletal and sports injuries.

    Mo has undertaken post-graduate training on Visceral and craniosacral osteopathic manipulation. Mo worked in a rehabilitation resort overseas, where he learned the importance of offering ongoing rehabilitation to all patients.

    Mo’s assessment and treatment philosophy includes involving patient goal setting and developing a treatment plan based on what you want to achieve. He incorporates manual hands-on therapy, and therapeutic exercises and ensures patients understand their condition and expectations to get them moving again.
